This morning officers and members of Brandywine Hundred Fire Company joined the JROTC at Mount Pleasant High School to participate in a Commemoration Memorial Ceremony of the 20th Anniversary of 9/11.
After opening remarks followed by a moment of silence, the program began promptly at 08:46 hours which is when the first airplane,
American Airlines flight 11 was flown into the North Tower of the World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan. A reading of each timeline milestone of that morning was recognized and was followed by the sounds of Rescue 11's siren.
The ceremony included raising the flag of the United States of America and naming the Delawareans who died on 9/11. The program concluded with a bugler playing "Taps".
We thank the JROTC members from Mount Pleasant and the entire Green Knight family for inviting Brandywine Hundred Fire Company to join you in honoring and remembering those who gave all on a day that changed our America.
