Sunday morning began with volunteers staffing an engine which headed to Advance Auto Parts to participate with a public event they were hosting. Engine 11-5 was set up for display as the crews spent the morning speaking to our neighbors about fire prevention, working smoke detectors and the volunteer fire service. The kids also had a great time interacting with our volunteers and were excited to receive their own fire safety education kits. We thank Josh from Advance Auto for inviting us to this event and appreciate the support they provide to Brandywine Hundred Fire Company throughout the year.
Just around noon, Station 11 along with Station 22 were alerted to an MVC on I-495 @ Edgemoor Road. Engine 11-5 responded immediately from the community event followed by Engine 11-3. A single occupant was evaluated by the crew from C-11 and transported, while the engine crew assisted with securing hazards and clean up while our Fire Police assisted with traffic control.
Crews responded to (3) additional calls throughout the day.
