It is with great sorrow that the Officers and Members of Brandywine Hundred Fire Company No. 1 announce the passing of Lifetime Active member David B. Starkey who passed away on December 31, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

Dave joined Brandywine Hundred Fire Company as a volunteer on June 4, 1958 at the young age of (16) and was a proud member for (64) years. During his tenure at Station 11 Dave held the position of ambulance lieutenant and was also active on the fire apparatus; accumulating (15) fire active years.

On December 9, 2004 the New Castle County Fire Chief's Association presented Dave along with another fellow member the "2004 Firefighter of the Year" award for their life saving efforts at a house fire on February 6, 2004.

We send our deepest condolences to Dave's family and friends, as he will truly be missed and never forgotten.

A Celebration of Life to honor Dave will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Brandywine Hundred Fire Company No. 1 located at 1006 Brandywine Blvd., Bellefonte, Delaware 19809.
