BHFC Announces Passing of Wayne R. Norris, Sr.

With heavy hearts the Officers and Members of Brandywine Hundred Fire Company, No. 1 announce the passing of Honorary Member Wayne R. Norris, Sr. Wayne passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at the age of 69.

Wayne joined Brandywine Hundred Fire Company on January 8, 1980 and was an Honorary and Lifetime active member with (40) years of service; responding to 8,380 of the sounded alarms. During his tenure at Station 11 Wayne previously held the positions of 2nd Assistant Fire Chief, Board of Director and Fire Police; a position he so proudly served for many consecutive years. Wayne was also an apparatus driver and served on several committees; including Building & Maintenance.

The Norris family has volunteered many years with Brandywine Hundred Fire Company as Wayne served along side with his wife Francis "Fran" (Ladies Auxiliary) and his (3) sons, Wayne R., Jr., James and John Norris.

In addition to serving his community as a volunteer firefighter, Wayne honorably served in the United States Army for (6) years.

The membership of Brandywine Hundred Fire Company extend our sincere condolences to the entire Norris family. Wayne will always be fondly remembered and never forgotten.
