With heavy hearts and deep sadness the Officers and Members of Brandywine Hundred Fire Company, No. 1 announce the passing of Board of Director, Christopher J. Bonsall, Sr. Chris passed away unexpectedly early this morning at the age of 35.
Chris joined Brandywine Hundred Fire Company on November 3, 1999 and was a Life-Time active member with (21) years of service. As a volunteer firefighter/emergency medical technician with Brandywine Hundred Fire Company Chris proudly served in the capacity of Assistant Chief and Fire Recorder. Chris was actively serving as a 2020 Board of Director and apparatus driver up until his untimely passing. Chris also dedicated his time serving on a variety of committees, including chairing the annual Children's Holiday party.
Throughout his service Chris received numerous commendations and life saving awards; including being honored at the Annual Sudden Cardiac Arrest Survivor's Reunion and being recognized as a "Top-Ten" responder with Brandywine Hundred Fire Company.
The Bonsall family has volunteered many years with Brandywine Hundred Fire Company as Chris proudly served along with his wife Stephanie who is the current Auxiliary Treasurer and his mother Vicki, a previous Auxiliary member. Chris's late father Stephen D. Bonsall was also a volunteer firefighter at Brandywine Hundred Fire Company until his passing in 1998.
While Chris only served on this earth for a short time, his legacy that he leaves behind will continue to inspire those he trained, mentored and the many he befriended throughout the Fire/EMS service.
