|MVC with Entrapment|

This evening just after 18:00 hrs. Brandywine Hundred Fire Company along with New Castle County Paramedics (4D), Trooper 4 and A-13 were dispatched to an MVC on Edgemoor Road, between Marsh Road and Brandywine Blvd. Rescue 11 (under the command of N. Tusio), Engine 11-5 (under the command of Deputy G. Day), 11-8A (Asst. A. Brown) and 11-8 (Chief Finocchiaro) responded and upon arrival 11-8A (A. Brown) assumed Brandywine Command and reported a single vehicle on its side with the driver trapped.
Crews quickly assessed the scene for hazards and went to work stabilizing the vehicle which included the use of Paratech struts; while NCC Paramedics made initial patient contact. Once the vehicle was stabilized, crews provided access for Paramedics to enter the vehicle to continue patient care while crews completed extrication.Patient was removed and transported by Trooper 4 to local trauma center.
Station 11 Fire Police were on scene for the duration assisting with traffic control along with Delaware State Police.
