As we are all working through these challenging times, the acts of kindness that our community continues to bestow upon the volunteers of Brandywine Hundred Fire Company is truly a blessing and very much appreciated.
Today one of our own members, John Gauge received a donated bicycle from a gentlemen in our community named Chuck Purnell. Mr. Purnell would often see Firefighter Gauge running to the firehouse when the siren sounded. Mr. Purnell graciously gave one of his bikes he was no longer using to Firefighter Gauge. This unexpected gift will surely assist Firefighter Gauge with a quicker response to the station when responding to dispatched calls.
Although this pandemic has been incredibly difficult for many and has changed our lives dramatically, we continue to be inspired. This selfless act of Mr. Purnell is just another remarkable way the people in our community are supporting our members and each other while we continue to navigate through these unprecedented times.
