<![CDATA[On Saturday the 12th Engine 11-5 with a full crew along with Utility-11 went to Webster Farms for a birthday party. The crew showed off the fire truck and went over fire safety with the children. A guest appearance was made for the children by Smokey the Bear. The kids got to sit in the fire truck as well as flow water from a real fire hose!

After the birthday party the crews continued the day with smoke detector checks in the neighborhood. Crews went door to door to check that each home had working smoke detectors. If any of the homes did not have smoke detectors the crews installed new ones for them. Crews installed smoke detectors in several homes.
