Thursday, July 28, 2011 00:50 Station 11 along with New Castle County Paramedics were dispatched to Interstate 95SB in the area of Marsh Road for the report of a MVC with Ejection. Within two minutes of dispatch Ambulance 11 & Engine 11-5 (with a crew of 6) were both enroute followed by 11-1 (with a crew of 4) at 00L55hrs. Units arrived to find a single vehicle accident that had rolled multiple times with the driver of the vehicle being ejected. Asst Chief 11-8B (Fanelli) had command and requested Interstate 95 be shut down at Naamans Road. Crews assisted EMS with patient care and packaging. Ambulance 11 and NCC Medic 4A transported the patient to the trauma center. Tuesday, July 26, 2011 15:23 Stations 11 & 13 were requested to assist Delaware County Station 39 (Lower Chichester) at the scene of a working dwelling fire at 1100 West Ridge Road on Tuesday the 26th. Station 11 was requested for a Rapid Intervention Team assist and station 13 was requested for Ladder 13. Engine 11-5 made the response within a minute of dispatch with a crew of 5. 11-5 arrived and was on standby as a RIT Team and also placed into service our new Rehab Mister for firefighters operating on scene. The new Rehab Mister was placed into service over the weekend thanks to Asst. Chief Wetherby (11-8A) and was a huge help in cooling down the firefighters in the extreme summer heat! Engine 11-5 was operating on scene for just over one hour and cleared at 16:40hrs.

Saturday, July 23, 2011 During the peak of the recent heat wave on Saturday the 23rd both Wilmington and Christiana Fire Companies had working alarms. Engine 11-5 was requested to relocate to Wilmington Fire Department Station 4 at 10:00hrs while they operated at a dwelling fire. Christiana Fire Company along with numerous mutual aid companies operated at the scene of 3 townhouses on fire! Engine 11-5 was requested at 16:56hrs to relocate to Christiana Station 12. 11-5 made the response under the command of Asst Chief Fanelli (11-8B) within 3 minutes of dispatch. 11-5 responded to a fire alarm, field fire, trash fire, MVC, and also to the scene of the working fire. After about four hours 11-5 was released by Deputy 12 and returned to station 11.

Sunday, July 10, 2011 02:32 Station 13, Engine & Rescue 11, Engine 25, Engine 20 and NCC EMS were alerted to the 300 block of Aldon Road in Claymont Heights for the Dwelling Fire at 02:32hrs. Rescue 11 with a crew of six under the command of Deputy 11 (Dimauro) within two minutes of dispatch. Assistant Chief 13-8C arrived to find a single story ranch dwelling with smoke showing. Rescue 11 arrived at 02:38hrs and the crew split to quickly complete a primary search, locate and begin extinguishing the fire (in basement) and sent a crew to the roof for vertical ventilation. Engine 13-2 arrived right behind Rescue 11 and assisted with fire suppression. Engine 11-5 arrived at 02:45 with a crew of 4 (under the command of FF Schmidt) and assisted with horizontal ventilation and stretched a back up line to the dwelling. Safety 11 (Alderson) was on scene and handled accountability for all units on scene. Claymont Command placed the incident under control at 03:10hrs. Ambulance 22 transported one firefighter to the ER with a minor injury. Friday, July 8, 2011 On July 8th, 10 volunteers from the Brandywine Hundred Fire Company took Tower 11 along with Engine 11-5 to the Edgemoor Community Center. The community center was holding a summer camp and requested the fire departments participation. Engine 11-5 hooked up to the hydrant and supplied Tower 11 which utilized an elevated master stream that provided a shower effect for the kids to run through. The kids had a great time and were able to stay cool in the hot and humid weather!

Wednesday, June 29, 2011 21:30hrs On Wednesday, June 29th, the members of Brandywine Hundred Fire Company were participating in High Angle and Confined Space Rescue (HACSR) training at the station along with a few members from the county HACSR team. While the training night was coming to an end, Brandywine Hundred Fire Company, Claymont Fire Company, and N.C.C. Medic 4C were dispatched at 21:30 for a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle. Within two minutes of dispatch, Ambulances 11 and 13, N.C.C. Medic 4C, Assistant Chief Fanelli (118B), Rescue 11 with a crew of 8, Engine 11-5 with a crew of 6 all made the response. With Station 11 quickly arriving on scene, 118B established Brandywine Command. Units arrived to find multiple vehicles and motorcycles involved with one fatality. Crews secured hazards on scene while assisting the State Police with the search of an unconfirmed additional patient. Upon further investigation, it was determined that there were no additional patients. Ambulance 13 along with N.C.C. Medic 4 transported one patient to the trauma center. Brandywine Command placed the incident under control at 21:56 hours. Fire apparatus remained on scene to assist Delaware State Police with lighting for the Fatal Accident Incident Reconstruction Team until 01:47 hours. Friday, June 17, 2011 02:10 Station 11 was dispatched to the area of Edgemoor Road & Hay Road for the report of an accident with rollover on Friday 6/17/11 @ 02:10hrs. Ambulance A-11 arrived at 02:14 hrs to find a single vehicle accident w/ rollover, however could not locate a patient. Rescue 11 with a crew of 8 under the command of 11-8A (Wetherby) and Engine 11-5 with a crew of 4 under the command of 11-8C (Rauso) arrived and assisted the police with a large area search for the driver of the vehicle. After searching for about 30 minutes with negative findings, units were cleared by Delaware State Police.
Friday, June 10, 2011 06:01 Station 11 was dispatched at 06:01hrs to assist station 22 (minquadale) on a working house fire in the Garfield Park section of New Castle. Tower 11 with a crew of five under the command of Jimmer Williams responded. While enroute units onscene were ordered to evacuate the structure due to a partial structure collapse in addition to heavy fire conditions. Tower 11 arrived at 06:20hrs. The crew from Tower 11 created a large hole on the side of the structure for access, assisted with fire suppression, and assisted with extensive overhaul. Command advised that all visible fire was extinguished and overhaul was beginning at 06:40hrs. Great job to all onscene!
Thursday, March 17, 2011 20 members of the Brandywine Hundred Fire Co. went to Jack Smith's Salvage Yard on Thursday the 17th for vehicle rescue training. Members took Rescue 11, Engine 11-5, Brush 11-1, and Ambulance 11 to the salvage yard where 2 cars were waiting to be used for training. The officers and senior firefighters practiced and instructed the junior and probationary members on vehicle rescue methods and practices.
