Today the volunteers of Brandywine Hundred Fire Company, No.1 along with Boy Scout Troop 342 hit the streets once again to continue efforts associated with BHFC's Smoke Detector Campaign which was launched on April 6, 2019.

The crews which included a fully staffed engine under the command of M. Cahill along with (2) support vehicles departed from the firehouse at 9:00 am. Our day began in the development of Lindamere and ended on Riverside Drive in Riverside Gardens. The day resulted with knocking on (90) doors; installing (45) smoke detectors, providing (15) detectors to homeowners for their own installation and checking the condition of existing detectors that were already present in several of the homes.

We thank all of the residents who welcomed us into their homes today, the positive feedback we have received thus far and the generous donations. Your support is very much appreciated.

The Officers and Members of BHFC also wish to thank Boy Scout Troop 342 for volunteering with us today. We thank all of the scouts that participated; taking the time from their weekend to help ensure the community we serve has working smoke detectors in their homes.

IF YOU CURRENTLY DO NOT HAVE WORKING SMOKE DETECTORS IN YOUR HOME OR NEED ASSISTANCE WITH TESTING YOUR DEVICES, DON'T WAIT CALL US TODAY @ (302) 764-4901.
