Several members from Brandywine Hundred Fire Company hit the streets of Bellefonte early this morning to begin the 1st day of our Smoke Detector Campaign. The crews, which included a fully staffed engine departed from the firehouse at approximately 9:00 am. We spent several hours knocking on doors, hauling ladders, installing smoke detectors, replacing batteries and sharing fire prevention tips with the residents in the Town of Bellefonte. During this time the engine crew also handled a response for a smoke investigation in our local. In the event we missed you yesterday, we left a door hanger on your door which includes information on how to contact BHFC and obtain your "free" smoke detectors.

We thank the many residents who welcomed us into their homes yesterday and the kind messages we have been receiving from so many since launching this campaign. Your support is very much appreciated.

If you currently do not have working smoke detectors in your home or need assistance with testing your devices, don't wait call us today @ (302) 764-4901.

We will continue to post our progress as we move forward with this great campaign. In the meantime, please do your part today and check to ensure your smoke detectors are working. In the event of a fire, a working smoke detector may SAVE YOUR LIFE!
