With deep sadness and heavy hearts the Officers and Members of Brandywine Hundred Fire Company, No. 1 announce the passing of President Emeritus & Fire Police Emeritus, Charles W. Frampton, Jr. Charlie passed away at home peacefully on Wednesday, October 17, 2018.
Charlie joined Brandywine Hundred Fire Company on March 3, 1954 and was an Honorary and Life-Time active member with (64) years of active service. Charlie previously held the positions of President, Vice President, Board of Director, 1st, 2nd, 3rd Assistant Chief during his tenure at BHFC. He actively served and held the position of Fire Police (11-9B), up until his untimely passing.
On August 1, 1998, Charlie was honored with being named Fire Police Emeritus followed by being named President Emeritus on January 3, 2007.
Charlie also served as President of the Delaware Volunteer Firefighter's Association, President of the New Castle County Firefighter's Association and President of the Delaware Fire Police Association. In addition, he also served as a Board of Director for the Delaware Volunteer Firefighter's Association and as Delaware State Fire Prevention Commissioner. In 2001, Charlie was inducted into the DVFA Hall of Fame.
Charlie also served our Country in the Navy Sea Bees Reserves.
The Frampton family has a combined "100" Years of Active Service at Brandywine Hundred Fire Company. Charlie was proud to serve along side his firefighter son, Steven. Charlie's mother Edna served as a firefighter at Brandywine Hundred Fire Company during World War II.
Charlie's service throughout his lifetime embodied all of the characteristics of a selfless volunteer; who will always be remembered as such and never forgotten.
A gathering for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 noon on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Brandywine Hundred Fire Company, where a memorial service will begin at 12 noon. Interment will be held privately. To read Charlie's complete obituary please visit spicermullikin.com
