Working Fire In The Local

Around 10:30 this morning the box was struck for station 11, engine & ladder 13, engine & ladder 25, and engine 22 where hit out for a residential fire in the community of Hillcrest. Within minutes engine 11-3 with a crew of 5 under the command of captain M. Fanelli hit the Street along with the Chief (T. Finocchiaro). Fireboard advised the units responding that it was reported to be a candle on a couch. After the report ambulance B-11 marked up and advised they had a header from Philly Pike and Marsh Rd. B-11 arrived shortly after and reported a two story single family with fire showing alpha side 1st and 2nd floor. Engine 11-3 arrived as the first due engine, securing their own water supply and pulling off 2 hand lines. Chief 11-8 arrived and established the Brandywine command. Within 2 minutes of being interior 11-3 officer advised command that the first floor was knocked and they where making there way to the 2nd floor. Command placed the scene under control within 30 minutes, with all fire knocked and crews working on overhaul. Units operated and where put back in service within and hour and a half.
