Sunday, August 1, 2010
-
On August 1st station 11 and Ambulance 22 were dispatched to the Dupont Edgemoore plant  on Hay Road for an Unknown Medical Emergency. Prior to apparatus responding from station 11 Assistant Chief James Williams (11-8C) arrived to find the Dupont Emergency Response Brigade on location with a male patient located about 75 feet up a tower. This prompted 11-8C to request Tower 11 make the response. As 11-8C, Tower 11's crew and EMS crews began to further assess the situation and the best method to lower the patient to the ground, it was determined that Rescue 11, and NCC ALS would also be required for the emergency. The decision was made to lower the patient in a stokes basket via a crane and have the bucket of tower 11 underneath. After about one hour the patient was loaded into the ambulance and transport was initiated.
